Performs all aspects of customer service for international accounts as assigned and national accounts as needed, including, but not limited to, duties and responsibilities as indicated below.


  • Acts as first point of service and escalation for daily incoming international customer service issues, and as a resource to help solve the daily issues arising with national customers, as well as other departments. Fluency in Spanish is required. Flexibility in schedule is also required, due to working across different time zones.
  • Completes and submits export and import documents and certificates as required when exporting customer orders or importing material returns.
  • Creates and completes invoices, documentation, and material acquisition in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Uses most cost-effective means of shipping that meets customer needs.
  • Fields all international customer service inquiries.
  • Is the subject matter expert on products and/or services offered as defined by management.
  • Is available to SupplyNet staff as the authority to help solve daily product knowledge issues arising with customers and departments. Also involves supplier's technical services department when appropriate.
  • Cultivates and maintains relationships with international customers and suppliers with regard to service.
  • Coordinates complex job quotations with Sales. Supports Sales when they are unavailable.
  • Mentors less-experienced customer service representatives.
  • Provides team leadership with the daily operations of the customer service group.
  • Provides example leadership in creating an environment that motivates and raises employee morale by portraying a service-oriented philosophy in a professional manner.
  • Assesses and reports on abilities and/or deficiencies in processes as they affect the level of service and profitability of the company.
  • Keeps all literature and technical information current and accessible in English and Spanish, as it relates to products and services offered.
  • Manages all international open orders, quotes, returns, claims, pricing discrepancies, etc., until the issues have been resolved. Communicates directly with customers, suppliers, and co-workers (including Sales, Credit, Inventory Control, etc.) to help resolve issues when necessary.
  • Approves all credits other than simple returns to SupplyNet branches other than those which are being handled personally by the branch or operations manager.
  • Communicates the directives of the company as they relate to improving the level of service.
  • Handles additional tasks necessary to fulfill the needs of the company and the customer.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Minimum of 1 year experience as Customer Service Manager or similar.
  • Has a good working knowledge of software using the internet, Windows, JDE, NFPA, approvals, and local code requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of wire transfer procedures letters of credit, and all forms of payment necessary to complete an international order.
  • Working knowledge of current (or up to date) NAFTA, SED regulations, and any other treaties or international regulations as they relate to position.
  • Minimum 2 years international import/export experience
