The Corporate Controller is responsible to report and analyze the consolidated financial results of the North American group to local management and its German parent company. The Corporate Controller will work with crossfunctional teams throughout the organization to ensure accurate and timely delivery of requirements and consistent use of the Company's reporting policies and systems. This individual supervises a centralized finance team of 15 persons who perform the accounting and finance functions serving five operating businesses.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct the activities of the corporate accounting department for accurate and timely preparation of financial management reports including, but not limited to, consolidated monthly financial statements and annual budgets.
  • Manage all accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, cost accounting. inventory valuation and payroll.
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value.
  • Oversee, review and forecast company cash requirements and flow of funds.
  • Work closely with business unit managers in conducting profitability analysis and return on investments in capital equipment.
  • Participate and lead the annual year end audit process with the external auditors.
  • Coordinate and manage income tax compliance such as sales and use taxes, real and personal property tax filings, as well as preparation of workpapers supporting the annual corporate income tax return including the R&D tax credit .
  • Respond to CFO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial needs.
  • Participates on a wide variety of special projects as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Four year degree, preferably in Finance/ Accounting.
  • Five years' experience in a Controller assignment within a similar sized entity.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing setting, accumulating knowledge in the areas of cost accounting, budgeting, labor standards, calculation of manufacturing burden, and capital equipment expenditures. 
  • Strong communication skills With technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in Public Accounting is required.
  • Consumer goods manufacturing is desireable.
