1st Shift Position!

Managing the day-to-day activities of the finished goods warehouse, while providing guidance regarding shipment priorities within the distribution operations and leading the continuous improvement effort in the area. This position is independent from our primary warehouse facility and will be located at our East Campus. Supervisor - Warehouse has oversight for two shifts and approximately 8-10 employees. Responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, performing within budgeted expenses, and optimal shipment carrier selection to minimize freight costs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership, guidance and training in all warehouse functional areas, including shipping, warehousing, cycle counting, and material handling. To include, but not limited to, equipment, software, and company policies and procedures.
  • Supervises assigned union and non-union employees, including assessing and planning for overtime needs.
  • Assures that the highest standards are maintained for safety, housekeeping, and compliance with all government and company standards. Conduct and record regular safety meetings and training.
  • Utilizes Varsity system or similar software to accurately ship packed materials and utilize rate shopping software for LTL shipments.
  • Responsible for determining and maintaining the optimal warehouse pick paths to achieve maximum production efficiency and throughput.
  • Implements continuous improvement projects that reduce overall lead time to the customer, which will also result in inventory reduction.
  • Works with Customer Service department to adapt accordingly to changes in demand to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures that departmental metrics (Fill Rate, Inventory Accuracy, On-time & Complete %, etc) are achieved or exceeded.
  • Troubleshoot all shipping complaints to find the cause, help resolve the issue, and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Responsible for establishing, maintaining, and adhering to all budgetary requirements.
  • Responsible for the training and development of all department members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 4-yr degree in related field or 2-yr degree with additional equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in a Lean Warehouse or Distribution environment
  • Minimum of 3 years in a Supervisory/Management role
  • International logistics experience preferred
  • JDE experience preferred
